Miami’s industry notables gathered at Cafeina Wynwood, a resto-lounge and gallery by entrepreneur Ivette Naranjo, for an exclusive preview night of the newly remodeled space and its new weekly programming Piano Bar Thursdays.
A pioneer in nightlife known for being the first bar/lounge in Wynwood Art District 9 years ago, the evening featured pianist Wayne Gilbert playing 70s and 80s classics as guests enjoyed bites from the all new Colombian-Asian fusion menu by executive Chef Carlos Hernandez. Dishes highlighted for the evening included Shrimp Cocotail with kimchee aioli, garlic, red onions and cilantro in a toston bowl; Boli Arepa Hush Puppy with guava kimchee gel, suero and lime zest; La Pepiada made up of pollo desmechado, avocado, mayonnaise, cilantro, lemon, and fried plantain and Bao Bun Wynwood Lomo Saltado with angus beef, tomatoes, red onions, cilantro sauce, fresno peppers, cilantro and fries.
Guests enjoyed a first taste of the new cocktails The Mexican Swizzle with tequila, Strega liqueur, lemon, pineapple and cilantro; Kentucky Guava a blend of bourbon, aperol, guava and rosemary and Immune Bomb with vodka, lemon, turmeric and ginger as they sang along with the pianist. Cafeina’s grand opening will be on Thursday, May 24 where it will debut its Piano Bar Thursdays, Friday Happy Hour and Comedy Night, and Garden of Good and Evil Sunday party.
