The ballroom in the Conrad Miami hotel was buzzing with excitement on Friday, February 12th as guests filled the room in anticipation for Switchboard of Miami’s 5th Annual Singles for Switchboard Bachelor Auction. As the DJ’s party music blared, patrons enjoyed complimentary bites by Brickell Flatiron and sipped on complimentary cocktails while anxiously waiting for the auction to begin. The evening MC was Kelly Blanco from NBC6.
One by one, Miami’s hottest and most interesting bachelors took the stage. The auctioneer Jacob Kodner and his assistant Cristina Mas presented each bachelor’s interests, their careers and their dream date. While some bachelors were more subdued, others wowed the crowd with roses, video presentations and stuffed animals. And in case there was any doubt, yes, there was a lot of twerking involved.
But the soiree wasn’t just about love and romance. The annual event serves as a fun and unique fundraising event benefiting the 2-1-1 Switchboard foundation. All proceeds from the auction aimed to promote philanthropy efforts for the organization, which serves the community as a Contact Center offering counseling, crisis intervention, suicide prevention and information. The bachelor that received the highest bid was Javier Finlay $1600.
Many of the bachelors, including Chris Borgognoni who was also featured on the cover of event partner Brickell Magazine’s February issue, considered his personal connection to the cause. “I decided to participate in the auction because I think it’s a great cause and it’s near to my heart because I have a friend who suffered from personal issues such as the ones the foundation helps,” said Borgognoni.
After the auction, the party continued as the bachelors danced and mingled with guests and their new dates. Complete with a special performance by tropicana dancers, the night was filled with fun, laughter and positivity as the winning bidders secured Miami’s hottest dates just in time for Valentine’s Day. #Singles4Switchboard
