The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis, the fundraising arm of The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis at the UM Miller School of Medicine, along with Honorary Chairs Gloria & Emilio Estefan, and Brittany & Christian Slater, hosted Destination Fashion 2016 at Bal Harbour Shops. Savannah Guthrie, Co-Anchor of NBCs Today Show, served as event Emcee. Fashion show featured the luxury brand Brunello Cucinelli showcasing their Spring 2016 Collection, and music icon Pitbull performed live.
During the evening guests traveled through the progressive party that showcased fashion and culture trends through the Decades – 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s. The event honored the 2015 Women of Substance & Style, accompanied by their celebrity presenters, and celebrated Bal Harbour Shops 50th anniversary and The Miami Projects 30th anniversary. In addition, Swanee and Paul DiMare received the Presenting Sponsor Award; Stanley Whitman, Randy Whitman and Matthew Whitman Lazenby, the Humanitarian Award; Micky and Madeleine Arison, The Christine E. Lynn Champion for a Cure Award; Gloria and Emilio Estefan, The Outstanding Philanthropists Award; and Edie Laquer, The Miami Project Spirit of Giving Award.
