South Florida’s Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry, the region’s leading culinary benefit to end childhood hunger, featured over 80 celebrated food and drink destinations under one roof at Wynwood’s Soho Studios, lead by renowned Chef and Founding Event Chairman, Allen Susser along with Restaurant Co-Chair Timon Balloo.
South Florida’s top gastronomic taste-makers delivered a wide array of delectable fares, libations and delicious desserts. This year’s event also featured a mystery wine grab, a silent auction with swanky packages, a No Kid Hungry Lounge, a Citi Lounge featuring cocktails by Blackbird Ordinary, an LG Farm-to-Table Kitchen activation helmed by chef Mike Pirolo of Macchialina, plus an exclusive after-party for VIP ticket holders and chef participants at nearby R House Wynwood.
One in five children in this country struggles with hunger, including more than 1.1 million kids in Florida. No Kid Hungry and its partners have connected kids struggling with hunger with 460 million meals. In 2015, South Florida’s Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry raised enough to help feed children in need more than 900,000 healthy meals.
