St. Jude Childrenâ€™s Research HospitalÂ celebrated its 14th annual FedEx/St. Jude Angels and Stars Gala, by welcoming back model and television personality, as well as co-founder, Daisy Fuentes, for an evening of fine dining and music and entertainment. The annual event raises funds to help ensure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food â€“ because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
Television and radio personalities Enrique Santos, and Karla Monroig were gala MCs, while Elizabeth Gutierrez, and Ismael Cala served as celebrity award presenters.Â TheÂ evening included live and silent auctions, and welcoming remarks by gala co-founder, Daisy Fuentes; Julio Barrionuevo,Â Sr.Vice President and CFO,Â FedEx Latin America & Caribbean Division at FedEx Express; Emily Callahan,Â Chief Marketing Officer for ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
This year gala presented St. Jude patient Nic and his mother Cristina asÂ St. Jude family speakers.Â Miami based businesswoman and philanthropist, Patty GutiÃ©rrez, was recognized for her longtime fundraising efforts in support of the St. Jude mission. Additionally, journalist and one of Time magazineâ€™s â€œ25 Most Influential Hispanics in America,â€ Cristina Saralegui,Â was recognized for her commitment to giving back and educating the Hispanic community.
Guests enjoyedÂ a live performance by Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Richard Marx, aÂ special live performance by Latin Grammy Award-winning duo Chino y Nacho, and sounds by localÂ DJ Mauricio Parra.
