Asociacion Emergencia Ayacucho-Miami ChapterÂ hosted its 30th Anniversary Gala “Pearls of Hope” at the Dadeland Marriot. TheÂ exciting evening served as AEA Miami’s annual fundraising event benefitingÂ orphanÂ or abandoned children ofÂ Ayacucho, Peru.Â Guests enjoyedÂ cocktail hour, silent auction, dinner, show and dance.
AEA, a non profit association, was foundedÂ in 1985 in response to the growing number of orphaned childrenÂ that survived terrorist attacks in Ayacucho during Peru’s most tumultuous years. Two years later, in 1987, the Miami ChapterÂ of AsociaciÃ³n Emergencia Ayacucho (AEA)Â was created in the Miami, under the leadership of Mrs. Dora de las Casas.
AEA MiamiÂ supports the orphanage homes “John Paul II” in Huanta, Huancapi and VilcashuamÃ¡n whichÂ are located at 1, 3 and 6 hours away, respectively, from Huamanga the capital of Ayacucho. 30 years since its inception, AEA has cared for more than 1,857 children and 280 young adults from the rural areas of Ayacucho who received a proper education, basic needs and inspiration.
