More than 200 guests celebrated the official grand opening of Big Easy Winebar & Grill‘s first U.S. location at Brickell City Centre, a sophisticated dining destination hailing from the stunning Western Cape region of South Africa. Big Easy hosted a lavish gathering in conjunction with Miami Magazine and concept partner Golf-icon Ernie Els, whose nickname is “Big Easy”, based on his easygoing personality and effortless golf swing. Big Easy is co-owned by renowned boutique restaurant firm Grove Bay Hospitality Group.
The swanky soiree featured an abundant array of and authentic progressively-inspired bites prepared by Executive Chef Maryna Frederiksen and her talented team. In addition, guests also enjoyed handcrafted cocktails, African beers and Els’ award-winning varietals, and the private dining room was converted into a wine cellar experience. The intimate space housed an array of Els’ wines, complemented with delicious charcuterie and cheese.
Big Easy is a culinary experience that is first and foremost a superb grill restaurant featuring outstanding meats and fresh local fish, yet inspired by Ernie’s travels around the world. Some of dishes feature Ernie’s South African Heritage – Bobotie Spring Rolls (sweet ground beef curry with chutney) or Boerewors (lean farmer sausage), others celebrate Florida’s sensational seafood and Latin influence. #BigEasyMiami
