The Junior League of Miami (JLM) honored “Women Who Make A Difference” at the organization’s 17th annual Spring luncheon, recognizing outstanding women who exemplify the League’s mission of promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities. Te luncheon was held at the Hotel Colonnade in Coral Gables,and was emceed by WPLG Local 10’s Laurie Jennings.
Arva Moore Parks, Victoria Cummock and Lubby Navarro were recognized for their strength, persistence and their remarkable contributions to society, all characteristics that the Junior League of Miami has instilled in its members and in the community for more than 90 years. The luncheon also awarded the four winners of JLM’s scholarship program, which assists female high-school seniors in Miami-Dade public schools. Funds raised from the event support JLM’s community projects, such as Inn Transition North & South, which aids survivors of domestic violence and their children.
