The American Invitational Grand Prix Horse Jumping Event

The American Invitational Grand Prix Horse Jumping EventSaturday, April 5, 5pm - Sun Life Stadium, 2269 N.W. 199th Street, Miami Gardens

The American Invitational, presented by G&C Farm, is the most celebrated Grand Prix horse jumping event in the USA and the only one in the world big enough to claim an NFL Stadium as its home! The event will bring together the top guns in the Olympic sport of show jumping for a pro bowl match-up over an incredible jumping track built right on the home field of the Miami Dolphins. Only the top 30 equestrian riders in the league receive an invitation to compete, including past and present Olympians. They compete over unyielding 5’6″ obstacles with hopes of claiming the coveted title and $200,000 in prize money. This is the only Olympic sport in which men and women of all ages compete as equals. And Grand Prix horses truly are the rock stars of the animal kingdom! Unlike a two year-old racehorse, a Grand Prix jumper has to be at least seven years old to compete at this level and is easily valued at a few million dollars. The majority of horses are European-bred, although you do see a few American Thoroughbreds in the mix. Gates open at 5 p.m., get photos and autographs with Olympian riders, including Miami’s own Olympian Margie Goldstein-Engel, and the event begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $29 general admission; $24 seniors and groups; and $4000 for ringside VIP tables of six with dinner and open bar.
