Miami Theater Center’s World Premiere of Everybody Drinks the Same Water by Stephanie Ansin and Fernando Calzadilla, will feature an all-local cast of veteran actors and rising talent. This provocative, medieval murder mystery will transport 21st century audiences to 13th century Cordoba, Spain, where a climate of violence, intrigue, and suspicion among Christians, Jews, and Muslims surprisingly gives rise to romance, collaboration, and celebration. Theater-goers will enjoy a top-quality, multicultural theatrical experience complete with a thought-provoking script; elaborate, custom-designed costumes; an evocative, original score; and unique set design, staging, and choreography—all hallmarks of MTC productions. The main set piece is a giant Islamic mosaic tile, set at a rake, and rotated by a custom-built, motorized turntable. Throughout the play, scene changes will be represented by the different positions of the decorative tile on which the actors will perform. Opening Night tickets are $35 with a limited number of $150 tickets which include a post-performance reception with the show’s cast and creative team. Performances, through June 1, are Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. with tickets priced at $25. Group and student ticket prices are available. For tickets, call 305-751-9550 Box Office or visit www.MTCMiami.org.
