Forager Fate at the Kampong

Forager F̻te at the KampongTuesday, April 29, 7pm РKampong, 4013 S. Douglas Rd., Coconut Grove

Miami’s culinary and literary communities have joined forces for Forager Fête, an evening of words, plants, and edible discoveries. It’s a release party for Forager: A Subjective Guide to Miami’s Edible Plants, written by George Echevarria and Tiffany Noé , as well as the latest issue of Edible South Florida.  The event is part of O, Miami Poetry Festival, a month-long ode to the creatively written word. Most people know the month for its poetry readings, but Forager Fête will highlight what’s awesomely edible in town. Food and drinks will be created by some of Miami’s best chefs, including Chef Bee of Oishi Thai and the new NaiYaRa, opening next year at Miami Beach’s Sunset Harbour, and Ryan Harrison of the new Taperia Raca. A “fast-foraging” tour of the Kampong will be led by director emeritus Larry Shokman and Noé, who also has roots in Plantmatter, downtown Miami’s multidisciplinary plant project. Attendees can scoop up copies of Forager (from O, Miami’s publishing house, Jai-Alai Books) and Edible South Florida.  Secure self-parking costs $5. Admission is $20.
