Miamiâ€™s culinary and literary communities have joined forces for Forager FÃªte, an evening of words, plants, and edible discoveries. Itâ€™s a release party forÂ Forager: A Subjective Guide to Miamiâ€™s Edible Plants, written by George Echevarria and Tiffany NoÃ© , as well as the latest issue ofÂ Edible South Florida. Â The event is part of O, Miami Poetry Festival, a month-long ode to the creatively written word. Most people know the month for its poetry readings, but Forager FÃªte will highlight whatâ€™s awesomely edible in town. Food and drinks will be created by some of Miamiâ€™s best chefs, including Chef Bee of Oishi Thai and the new NaiYaRa, opening next year at Miami Beachâ€™s Sunset Harbour, and Ryan Harrison of the new Taperia Raca. A â€œfast-foragingâ€ tour of the Kampong will be led by director emeritus Larry Shokman and NoÃ©, who also has roots in Plantmatter, downtown Miamiâ€™s multidisciplinary plant project. Attendees can scoop up copies of Forager (from O, Miamiâ€™s publishing house, Jai-Alai Books) and Edible South Florida. Â Secure self-parking costs $5. Admission is $20.
