St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital celebrated its 12th annual FedEx/St. Jude Angels & Stars gala, co-founded by Daisy Fuentes, spotlighting how the hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other deadly diseases. Because of benefits like this one, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for anything, so they can focus on helping their child live. The dinner program included a cocktail reception, fine dining, a silent auction and live entertainment. During the cocktail reception the local artist Jonatas Chimen reviled his sculpture as an exclusive auction item.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other deadly diseases, recognized South Florida Chef Adrianne Calvo with the FedEx/St. Jude Dedication Award presented by The Mosteiro Family Foundation. For the past five years, the Cuban-American author, entrepreneur, television personality and Miami-based chef has prepared traditional Cuban meals for patient families who are away from home during the holiday season.
The evening hosts included: Pamela Silva Conde, a Peruvian six time Emmy award winning journalist and co-anchor of the Univision Network’s weekday news-magazine, ‘Primer Impacto’ one of the highest rating programs in the United States and in 12 Latin-American countries; Ana Maria Canseco, a Mexican television personality and was the co-host of the Univision morning talk show, “Despierta America”; Raul Gonzalez, a Venezuelan TV Host and actor recently joined Telemundo; Charytin Goyco, a Dominican singer, television hostess and actress; Jon Secada, a Cuban American singer and songwriter with two Grammy Awards and over 20 million albums sold; James Tahhan “Chef James” Chef and co-host for Telemundo’s morning show, “Un Nuevo Dia”. The evening concluded with live performances live performances by GRAMMY® Award winning artist Willy Chirino and singer/songwriter Jencarlos Canela.
