Discover Miami Through Music: AirborneSaturday, April 7, 8pm – Shake-A-Leg Miami, 2620 South Bayshore Drive, Coconut Grove

To honor the 95th anniversary of the founding of Pan American World Airways and Miami’s storied aviation history, Orchestra Miami presents two rarely performed, important American compositions about flight- Kurt Weill’s Der Lindberghflug (Linberg’s Flight) and Marc Blitzstein’s Airborne Symphony at Shake-A-Leg Miami, an original Coast Guard airplane hangar in Coconut Grove, built in 1932.

The performance features Orchestra Miami, Elaine Rinaldi conductor, along with the Rosie Herrera Dance Theatre under the direction of Rosie Herrera, members of Tropical Wave and the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida under the direction of Anthony Cabrera, with stage direction by Michael Yawney. The performance will feature Gregory Schmidt as Lindberg and Gabriel Preisser as Airman.
