As the presenting sponsor for the North American leg of Katy Perry’s Prismatic World Tour, Staples and global pop music superstar Katy Perry have teamed up to “Make Roar Happen” in support of teachers, parents and students throughout the country during later summer’s back-to-school season. Staples has a proud history of supporting education in America through its teachers and students, and it is continuing its commitment by today announcing that it is donating $1 million to DonorsChoose.org, an organization which funds U.S. classroom programs in local communities across the U.S. Additionally, Customers are invited to join the effort by donating $1 to DonorsChoose.org at their local Staples store. The proceeds will benefit a teacher’s DonorsChoose.org project within their local market. Staples and Katy are also joining forces in the following ways:

  • Customers who spend $10 or more at their local Staples store will receive a unique code to enter online at staples.com/makeroarhappen for a chance to win two tickets to a concert on the North American leg of Katy Perry’s Prismatic Tour.
  • Beginning June 25, Staples is conducting a national sweepstakes where students can create and upload a video to staples.com/makeroarhappen ‘Roaring’ about their educational goals, inspirational teachers, and/or how education has positively impacted their lives. The winners of the sweepstakes will be awarded an all-expenses paid trip to Los Angeles to meet Katy Perry and attend her performance at Staples Center on September 19.
    • To enter the sweepstakes, students can upload videos at staples.com/makeroarhappen. Entries must be submitted before 11:59 PM ET on September 3. Students are also encouraged to share their videos on their social channels using the hashtag #MakeRoarHappen.
