Five Rivers Wine Maker: Ken Greene at Casablanca CaféWednesday, June 25, 12:30pm – Casablanca Café, 3049 Alhambra Street, Fort Lauderdale

Ken is a California native who discovered his passion for wine at an early age. Confident in his path, he went straight for his BS in Fermentation Science at UC Davis. Fresh out of school, Ken worked harvests at several smaller wineries before landing his first full time winemaking position at Golan Heights Winery, located in Katzrin, Israel. Golan is best known for being a pioneering producer of high quality, international style wines in Israel. Following that amazing experience Ken headed back state side to settle into a career very focused on winemaking on the Central Coast of California.

His Coastal career started at with Seagram Chateau & Estate Wines Co. where he worked his way up to the Director of Winemaking overseeing all of winemaking for the portfolio of Central Coast wines including Sterling Vintners Collection and Tessera. After the acquisition of Seagram C&E by Diageo, Ken became Director of Central Coast Winemaking which added the BV Coastal and Blossom Hill brands to his responsibilities, along with various new brand initiatives.

In 2007, Ken was hired on at Fetzer Vineyards as a winemaker and to oversee the operations of Fetzer’s Paso Robles facility. In 2012, Ken was promoted to Head Winemaker for Five Rivers Wines and we could not be more excited to have him on board. Ken’s wealth of experience and knowledge in Central Coast wines make him the perfect fit and have greatly impacted the new direction of Five Rivers Wines.
