Be prepared for some awesome homemade floats in the Key Biscayne’s 55th annual Fourth of July Parade which takes place along Crandon Boulevard to West Enid. Anything goes in this contest of creativity with a $1000 purse to the winning team. The fireworks will follow later on at sunset on Village Green, rain or shine, starting at 9pm. You can watch the fireworks from the Village Green, or anywhere with a view of the Atlantic ocean. This year, there will be a $1000 prize for best homemade float, with $500 for second place. They recognize it’s not easy to put something together, and maybe this can inspire a little friendly competition, and some awareness about the parade and the fact that it’s you and your neighbors who make this great American celebration what it is. So if you’re interested, or you know creative types, enter here.
