2017 BugfestJuly 25 – 29, Various Locations

Lauderdale-By-The-Sea celebrate Florida’s lobster mini-season with BugFest, our annual bug hunting dive festival. Unlike the Keys, divers during lobster mini-season can bag up to 12 bugs per day! The contest fee is $20, divers receive a BugFest Goody Bag and BugFest T-shirt. BugFest this year includes:
Tuesday, July 25 – Lobster Mini-Season Kickoff Party at Plunge Hotel. You can register for the Great Florida Bug Hunt at the kick-off party. The event will feature music by the Scuba Cowboy, an underwater photo display courtesy of Coast Boutique and prize giveaways by Greg Holt of ScubaRadio!
July 26 & 27 – The Great Florida Bug Hunt. You can win a dive trip to Bimini or other dive gear prizes, including an Aqualung regulator or a brand new scuba tank, even if you don’t catch any bugs!
Thursday, July 27 – BugFest Mini-Season Awards Party and Chef Contest hosted by Billy and Mitch from ScubaNation TV. The event will feature the Scuba Cowboy, mermaids and a special show by speed painter Dale Henry, an artist who is amazing to watch.
Saturday, July 29  – Underwater pier clean-up at Anglin’s Pier followed by a beachfront barbecue at a private beach club. Free live bands starting at 6:30PM in Anglin’s Square to benefit Diveheart! The top drawing prize is a 4-day trip to Cozumel!
