To celebrate the all-new Mercedes-Benz 2015 GLA, a luxury compact SUV poised to captivate the next generation of buyers, Mercedes-Benz launched nine-city music tour set which showcases the intrinsic bond between music and cars and the evolution of the brand. The new GLA, a perfect complement to the recently launched CLA four-door coupe, offers a progressive design that caters to an adventurous lifestyle, making it the perfect companion to take out on the road for a summer concert series. #MBEvolutionTour kicked-off in New York with an performance by Alabama Shakes at Terminal 5, with special DJ performance by Questlove and a live interactive art exhibition by Mr. Brainwash. The tour made its way to Miami with additional stops in Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles, Chicago, New Orleans, San Francisco and Washington D.C.
#MBEvolutionTour in Miami opened with Blonde Redhead, an American alternative rock band composed of Kazu Makino and twin brothers Simone and Amedeo Pace that formed in New York City in 1993, and with main performance by Mayer Hawthorne, DJ, rapper, singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist that knows how to rock a crowd. Between live performances the sounds were also provide by DJ Mike Deuce and DJ Rascal. Guests could pose for a photo on the black carpet upon arrival, were immersed in interactive vehicle displays and evolution timelines that showcased the 128-year history of Mercedes-Benz, and witness live social media feeds and tour. Guests were also able to take home their own tour t-shirt featuring the creative work of Mr. Brainwash. Mr. Brainwash also created a unique design on the exterior of the GLA that will evolve throughout the tour and culminate at the Los Angeles event.
