Film London, the London arm of the British Film Commission, in association with FilMiami, will be hosting “Pitching Across the Pond,” an exclusive, high-end TV drama pitch competition, where ten MMFM Producers will have a chance to pitch their TV projects to Film London executives, including the organization’s Chief Executive Adrian Wotton OBE. Five winners will be selected to travel to London in the fall for Content London, one of Europe’s premiere drama summits, and participate in a “familiarization trip” of the UK film and TV industry.
Adrian Wootton OBE said: “I’m extremely pleased to be partnering with our good friends at MMFM on a special new city-to-city agreement. As part of this, we’ll be selecting a select handful of Miami-based producers for one of Film London’s renowned ‘familiarization trips’ – an intensive five-day tour showcasing what the UK capital can offer ambitious TV drama projects. Taking in London’s studios, facilities and locations as well as the prestigious Content London event this promises to be an exciting endeavor, and I look forward to even greater creative, commercial and cultural exchange between our two regions in the future.”
Other sessions, highlighting the UK film / TV industry and talent will include producer Paul Brett (THE KING’S SPEECH, CHEF, WOLF HALL), and Slamdance Film Festival co-founder Peter Baxter. MMFM will also feature a “Production Summit” which will include key industry executives from Entertainment Partners, Warner Horizon Television, and Viacom International. PRC China will also be featured during this year’s MMFM.
