The City of Boca Raton presents Downtown Boca’s Brazilian Beat, designated as one of South Florida’s official annual Brazilian Independence Day Celebrations by the Consulate General of Brazil in Miami, on Saturday, September 6 at 6 p.m. Promising to be a spirited evening, Brazilian Beat will feature live music, street entertainment including a Zumba showcase, Capoeira dancers, carnival dancers, samba drummers and authentic Brazilian food.  Headlining Brazilian Beat will be one of Brazil’s own music treasures, BossaCucaNova, known for their irresistible fusion of the electro-bossa nova with the danceable, sultry samba synonymous with the culture of the country.  This year marks the band’s 15th anniversary with founding members Marcio Menescal (son of bossa nova pioneer Roberto Menescal), DJ Marcelinho DaLua and producer/sound engineer Alex Moreira.  Percussionist Dado Brother and vocalist Cris Delanno have been with the band for more than a decade. The event is FREE and open to the public.
