In honor of National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the Live Like Bella Foundation hosted its inaugural Bella’ Ball, presented by Tutti Bambini, which took place at Jungle Island. The Live Like Bella Foundation raises awareness and funds for Pediatric Cancer Research. Friends and supporters of the Live Like Bella Foundation had a golden night of celebration, fun and laughter on behalf of the children and their families waiting for a cure. The gala evening, in memory of Bella Rodriguez-Torres, was hosted by Enrique Santos and Eileen Cardet, and feature live performance by Jencarlos Canela, along with surprise performance by Tony Dize.
Bella Rodriguez-Torres battled a rare, aggressive cancer for six years until she died in 2013, at 10 years of age. Her positive outlook on life inspired many to Live Like Bella – to laugh, sing, play and be compassionate toward others. The Live Like Bella Foundation and Miami Children’s Health Foundations have come together to create “Bella’s Promise“, honoring Bella’s life with a pavilion at Miami Children’s Hospital, an $8.5 million project that will serve as a temporary housing facility for families of children undergoing cancer treatments, as well as treatment in neurosurgery, neurology, cardiology and neonatology.
