Jay Jorge Alvarez fled Cuba by boat with his entire family in 1964. He was four and a half years old. Alvarez plays various family members, most movingly the role of his mother who was terrified of venturing into the shark-infested waters of the Florida Straight. A moving and humorously human story, acclaimed by critics as the “very best of solo performancesâ€, Alvarez returns to our community for this commemorative occasion. General Admission $25 | Students & Seniors: $20.
