Cirque du Soleil Presents: Amaluna

Cirque du Soleil Returns to Miami with AmalunaDecember 11 –  January 25, Sun Life Stadium, 347 Don Shula Dr, Miami Gardens

Cirque du Soleil returns to Miami with one of its newest touring shows, Amaluna, which premiered on December 11 under the iconic blue and yellow Big Top at Sun Life Stadium. Written and directed by Tony Award-winning director, Diane Paulus, Amaluna – is a fusion of the words ama, which refers to “mother”, and luna, which means “moon”.  It takes place on an island governed by goddesses and guided by the cycles of the moon, which is visited by a group of young men who wash ashore in a storm.

Cirque du Soleil’s 33rd production is a celebration of love and a tribute to the work and voice of women, featuring a cast that comprises 70% women, with a 100% all-female band. Larry Edwards, head of wardrobe, makes the world of Amaluna vibrant with costumes brimming with color. Due to an overwhelming demand, Amaluna’s show dates have been extended to run until January 25, 2015, with some tickets starting as low as $35. Tickets are available for purchase online or by calling 1-877-9 CIRQUE.
