The Rum Line Opens in Miami BeachThursday, November 6, 9pm-12am – The Rum Line at Loews Miami Beach Hotel, 1601 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach

The Rum Line, the Caribbean-inspired al fresco bar by acclaimed New York City restaurateurs John McDonald, Joshua Pickard and Josh Capon of Mercer Street Hospitality (Lure Fishbar – SoHo and South Beach, El Toro Blanco and Bowery Meat Company) and local restaurant operators Seth Alexander and Sol Alvarez (Prime 112, The Forge and The Dutch Miami), are proud to introduce this unique concept and private event space to South Florida’s evolving libations scene.

At the helm of The Rum Line’s inventive cocktail program is award-winning Bar Director, Rob Ferrara, who has received numerous accolades including the title of”Best Bartender” from Miami New Times. “The origin of the bar’s name hails from the prohibition era when ships from the Caribbean transported rum to Florida’s coasts to supply the speakeasies,” says Ferrara. “We’re bringing back the rum renaissance by paying homage to Hemingway and the brilliant minds of that time with classic cocktails at an accessible price, in a laid-back environment.”

The eclectic bar menu will showcase original and long lost recipes from the 1930s to the 1960s including signature punches in scorpion bowls, hand-shaken daiquiris such as the famed Hemingway Daiquiri with Bacardi Heritage, Luxardo Maraschino liquor, fresh grapefruit and lime, in addition to a selection of new and old school libations infused with house-made mixers. Those looking to enjoy a light bite with their cocktail can delight in a menu of tropical small plates and fresh seafood. Savory and shareable bites will include Tuna & Salmon Tacos; Grilled Shrimp Skewers with mango salsa; Crispy Oysters; Baby Back Ribs with guava BBQ sauce and more. For private event inquiries or table reservations for large groups, please call 305-695-0110. #TheRumLine
