Launching in the epicenter of Miami’s Wynwood Arts District during Art Basel 2018, fashion retailer UNKNWN (@unknwn) is teaming with Chicago artist Julian Victor LaMarr Gaines, aka Ju Working on Projects, aka Juwop, (@JuWorkingOnProjects) on brand new artwork titled “Black Souls.” The interactive exhibit is a social commentary on the tragic and unnecessary deaths triggered by the violence surrounding sneaker culture product procurement and trade. The exclusive installation, Black Souls collection, and pop-up shop will be located at the One Six Six space powered by UNKNWN on December 7th – 9th 2018. Upon entering the BLACK SOULS installation, guests will be immediately drawn to a vortex of darkness as a portion of One Six Six’s raw studio space (walls, doors, windows, and furniture) will be enveloped into black nothingness, symbolizing the senseless loss of life.
