Clyde Butcher, the South Florida photographer and author known for his wilderness photography of the Florida landscape, is opening his first gallery in Coconut Grove at the newly renovated Engle Building. The 600-square-foot, high-ceilinged gallery, designed by Arquitectonica, will accommodate large pieces as well as small close-up photos.
“Clyde Butcher is one of the icons of modern photography, and we are excited to have him in the community,” said Raymond Fort, of Arquitectonica, principal of Main Highway Partners, the company redeveloping the building. “Clyde Butcher is Florida at its best,†says Harold Fort, another Main Highway Partners principal and landscape architect at Arquitectonica GEO. “He conveys to the world the message of our beautiful yet fragile Everglades through artistic photography.â€
