Celebrate the Chinese New Year With Beijing's Forbidden City Chamber OrchestraSaturday, January 17, 7pm-9pm – Chapman Conference Center at Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus, 300 NE 2nd Avenue, Miami

Forbidden City Chamber Orchestra (FCCO) comprises famous musicians from China Conservatory – China’s most prestigious music school. With its extensive performances on the music stages in China and abroad, FCCO has received high praise from music circles and fans across the world. Honored as “the embodiment of the special nobleness and elegance of Chinese traditional music and rarely seen classic charm in the modern age, shortening the emotional distance between elegant music and ordinary people”, FCCO distinguishes itself as “one of the most influential chamber orchestras in today’s world”.

The FCCO’s outstanding place in today’s music world can be attributed not only to its unique style and exemplary musicianship, but more significantly to the strong cultural consciousness of the musicians. While drawing upon the rich legacy of Chinese music, the FCCO also emphasizes modernity in their music, and the distinctive individualism of modern day musicians. The orchestra focuses on the research, inheritance and innovation of national music, pursues artistic experimentation, and conducts cultural exchanges with the outside. The FCCO wishes to stimulate discussions about how to carry forward the traditional music of China, cultivate music talents in an innovative way, promote the diversity of national music creation, and develop the fine music and culture of the Chinese nation.
