National Mentoring Month: Big Brothers Big Sisters Offers Events At Miami Heat Games In January To Raise Awareness, Recruit Mentors For Youths At RiskTuesday, January 20/23/27, 7:30pm–09:30pm – American Airlines Arena, 601 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami

In observance of National Mentoring Month in January, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami is teaming up with the Miami HEAT to help elevate awareness and give Miamians opportunities to become mentors for local youths at risk. BBBS is a nonprofit organization supporting at-risk children through adult mentor relationships. National Mentoring Month was created in 2002 by the Harvard School of Public Health and MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership, to focus national attention on the need for mentors, as well as how individuals, businesses, government agencies, schools, faith communities and nonprofits can work together to increase the number of mentors to help ensure positive outcomes for youths. During the 7:30pm games at the AmericanAirlines Arena on January 20, 23, and 27, tables will be set up at the following locations to inform potential volunteers of the various programming alternatives available:

• January 20 (Oklahoma City Thunder): Section 115 (Inner Wall)
• January 23 (Indiana Pacers): Section 102 (Inner Wall)
• January 27 (Milwaukee Bucks): Section 102 (Inner Wall)
