The private reception, co-hosted by FIU Dean Brian Shriner and artist Connie McSilver, is celebrating the launch of a new scholarship fund which awards FIU interior architecture students who best integrate artwork and collections of art into their interior architecture designs. The Martin and Constance Silver Award was created to promote the integration of art in interior architecture, while focus learning on understanding why and how to form a strong and creative relationship between the art pieces and the environment that houses them. The reception also celebrates the addition of a piece of artwork by artist Connie McSilver, to the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Art.

Unveiling ceremony of a 10’ high sculpture donated by artist Connie McSilver, at the FIU’s School of Architecture Courtyard, to celebrate the launching of the Martin and Constance Silver Award, which promotes the integration of art in interior architecture amongst FIU students. The unveiling is followed by a cocktail reception in the school’s BEA Gallery, where another piece of art from McSilver will be on display as it joins the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Art collection.
