No stranger to live performances, Matisyahu, headlined the latest installment of Sole on the Oceanâ€™s Barefoot Concert Series during Presidentâ€™s Day Weekend 2015.Â Hasidic alt-reggae sensationÂ performed an acoustic set of favorites including â€œKing Without a Crown,â€ â€œOne Dayâ€ and â€œLive Like a Warrior,â€ plus tracks from his 5th studio album, â€œAkeda.â€
Opening set were DJ Mark Gorbulew, andÂ Bushwood, a six-piece reggae rock band, whose high energy and signature style have been igniting stages all across South Florida. Known for their ability to perfectly blend funk and reggae, this band loves to perform, and knows how to put on a great show.
The event also served to raise awareness and funds for ALS Foundation and Jeff Fogel, a star of the 12 minute short movie “Who is Lou Gehrig?” and he’s battle against ALS, often referred to as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Movie is directed by Gil Green, and produced by 305 films; home-based production company where Green is part-owner alongside seasoned producer Judd Allison.
The event took place beach-side complete with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. Guest were also able to enjoy refreshing cocktails and culinary treats from a specialty menu curated by the executive chef Phillipe Ruiz, who helms Sole on the Ocean Resort and Spaâ€™s new restaurant Fresh American Bistro.
