The Hollywood Community Redevelopment Agency and The Rhythm Foundation will present Hollywood ArtsPark Experience: New Orleans! Celebrate Mardi Gras with the sounds and flavors of The Big Easy with George Porter, Jr. and his group, the Running’ Pardners, along with Nathan and The Zydeco Cha-Chas. Few bass players in the history of modern New Orleans music are as storied as George Porter, Jr., best known as a founding member of the legendary band The Meters (now The Funky Meters). Nathan and the Zydeco Cha Chas is led by accordionist Nathan Williamson (pictured). Zydeco is the fast and furious fiddle and accordion-driven dance music of the region. The night kicks off with the award-winning Dillard High School Jazz Band, a group that has won top awards at many national competitions.
