Bravoâ€™s â€œTop Chefâ€ semifinalist and fan favorite Chef Sam Talbot hosted spectacular gourmet dinner featuring 20 chefs from top Miami restaurantsÂ going “Out of the Kitchen” to help raise funds for the cure-focused work of the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI). This unique and ultimate-foodie experience took chefs out of the confines of their kitchens, and into a large ballroom at the Forbes five-star St. Regis Bal Harbor Resort, where they each simultaneously created three-course meals table side for tables of 12 guests.
Sam Talbot is a chef, author, philanthropist and television personality based in Brooklyn, NY. Diagnosed at a young age with type 1 diabetes, Sam lives every hour with a deep understanding of the impact of food on life and life on food. He was a semi-finalist on season 2 of Bravo’s Top Chef – was voted “fan favorite” and subsequently named one of People Magazines “Sexiest Men Alive” in 2012.
The evening started with a VIP cocktail reception featuring a pop-up restaurants Lillt Lounge/Area 31, and Chef Irie serving gourmet appetizers. The dinner also offered a spectacular live and silent auctionsÂ featuring exclusive getaways and TV show tickets.Â Proceeds will benefit the groundbreaking cure-focused research at the Diabetes Research Institute at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
