GGG launches it’s first-ever satellite show, The Pop Up, a retrospective to the celebrated street and graffiti art exhibition that will be on display for six weeks at ArtCenter/South Florida. The abridged version of the show is slated for July 15 thru August 21. GGG presents The Pop Up celebrates international artists from previous GGG exhibitions during Art Basel Miami Beach and offers a first-hand look into the city of Miami’s landscape of local talent.
Special emphasis will be placed on the SUSHISAMBA house collection, which includes four works by Remed, as well as the installation of “Eames Inspiration,” the latter a re-imagined take on the iconic Eames Molded Plywood Chairs. The chairs were originally displayed in May 2010 in Barneys famous storefront windows in New York by creative ambassador-at-large Simon Doonan. The chairs were later auctioned online to benefit Operation Design – a creative mentorship program that connects architects, artists and related talents with New York City public school students to create motivating and inspiring projects. The collection was purchased at a public auction by SUSHISAMBA.
The GGG brand is the brainchild of SUSHISAMBA® creative director, Shimon Bokovza. Over the past four years, Bokovza has consistently demonstrated his support of street artists with each year’s exhibition bringing an expansive lineup of international talent. This temporary exhibition will be a selection of works from past artists in addition to the official unveiling of the brand’s growing collection. GGG presents The Pop Up is free and open to the public through August 21.
