Wednesday, June 3, 6pm-8pm – OMEGA Boutique, 111 NE 39th Street, Miami Design District
Prestige Swiss watchmaker OMEGA hosted an event at the OMEGA Boutique in the Miami Design District to welcome an extensive collection of historical timepieces from the OMEGA museum in Biel, Switzerland. In this special exhibition, OMEGA curated a rare selection of timepieces representing the iconic brand’s rich heritage of innovative watchmaking. The collection will be on display for a limited time – June 3 through June 17. Guests were welcomed to the recently opened OMEGA Boutique in Miami’s trendy Design District and treated to a cocktail reception and exclusive viewing of the exhibit to the tunes of DJ YSL.
The exhibition traces OMEGA’s history and most significant milestones since the birth of the brand in 1894. Among the noteworthy watches on display is an OMEGA given by Frances Gershwin to her husband, Leopold Godowsky Jr., the co-creator of the first practical color transparency film, Kodachrome. Furthermore, displayed were notable ladies’ watches and key pieces from OMEGA’s popular Seamaster and Speedmaster collections. OMEGA’s commitment to innovation and technology is also represented in the exhibit. In 1999, OMEGA launched the first series-produced watch equipped with a radical Co-Axial escapement. A representative selection of the brand’s watches reflecting this revolutionary advancement are on display, forecasting the next chapter in OMEGA’s history of breaking new bounds.
