Miami New Times and Downtown Miami Development AuthorityÂ hosted the 8th annual Miami New Times Iron Fork, and for the 3rd consecutive year, theyÂ partnered with the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau to officially kick-off annualÂ Miami Spice, bringing guests culinary creations from more than 75Â of South Floridaâ€™s luxury and fine-dining restaurants. The event returned to the Hyatt Regency Miami where dining enthusiasts enjoyed some of the finest restaurants featured during the Miami Spice program, as well as dozens of other top local eateries.
Celebrated Chef Allen Susser hosed the â€ª#â€ŽForkOffâ€¬ Chef Competition between two of Miami’s hottest chefs, Eileen Andrade from FINKA Table & Tap and Dena Marino from MC Kitchen, with Miami Smokers pork as a secrete ingredient. The ladies of the Fork Off Chef Competition, presented by Culinary Convenience, were judged by Danny Serfer (Mignonette/Blue Collar), Chefs Adrianne Calvo (Adrianne’s Vineyard Restaurant & Wine Bar), Jamie DeRosa (Tongue & Cheek/Izzy’s Fish & Oyster) and Ralph Pagano (Naked Taco/Naked Lunch). â€ªâ€ŽDena Marino of MC Kitchen was crowned as Fork Offâ€¬ Competition winner!
In addition to the Fork Off Chef Competition, Susser has also curated the #â€ŽShuckIt Oyster Competition presented by Midtown Oyster Bar. Chefs from Mignonette, Izzy’s Fish & Oyster, J&G Grill at St Regis Bal Harbour, Lure Fishbar and The Oceanaire Seafood Room restaurants were timed to see who can shuck a dozen oysters the fastest. That was some fierce shucking during â€ŽShuck Itâ€¬ Oyster Competition with Mignonette coming in at 1 minute and 36 seconds for the win! #â€ŽIronForkMIAâ€¬
