Clear the Shelter 2015

Help "Clear the Shelters" By Adopting A PetSaturday, August 15, 10am-6pm – Humane Society of Greater Miami, 16101 W Dixie Hwy, North Miami Beach

“Clear the Shelters” event proved to be a truly incredible day for animal lovers. Starting early that morning, people across the United States visited their local shelters in search of their perfect, furry match. The Humane Society of Greater Miami was one of four participating shelters in South Florida and one of 400 participating shelters nation-wide. By the end of the day, a grand total of 18,489 animals went home with forever families, thanks to this adoption event spearheaded by NBC Owned Television Stations and Telemundo Stations Group.

“We are ecstatic to see so many of our animals finally go home with families they can call their own,” says Laurie Hoffman, Executive Director of the Humane Society of Greater Miami. The staff and volunteers of the organization were extremely pleased to witness a total of 71 cat and dog adoptions throughout the day. “Our shelter is almost completely “clear” and that is a problem we do not mind having!”

The efforts by NBC Owned Television Stations and Telemundo Stations Group to connect pets across the country with forever families are deeply appreciated by the shelters involved and animal lovers alike. Every pet deserves a loving and permanent home and “Clear the Shelters” provided an impactful solution to getting each and every one of them there. #CleartheShelters
