Young Millennials face many challenges in today’s techno world, but a local foundation is working to teach media literacy to the younger generation as way to protect them and their rights. Youth Speak Out International offers the area’s most at-risk kids valuable afterschool media programs and on Saturday, September 19 attendees to the Spread the Hope fundraiser will have the chance to meet some of the children and see some of their multi-media creations at the Brewhouse Gallery from 4 pm to 7 pm.
Headlining the event is the hit band Spred the Dub, who will spread the “goodtime reggae” sounds from 5 pm to 7 pm. Guests will also receive a raffle ticket with a chance to win fabulous prizes including thousands of dollars in art from international artist William King and others, as well as staycations, dining certificates and more. Other activities include live art, henna tattoos and a custom bike show with Sprockets & Spokes. Rounding out the event will be light bites and samples from dozens of craft beers, specialty wines or teas and coffees.
Tickets for the all-inclusive event are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. For more info email email@example.com. @Brewhouse720
