Vice Mayor Alexandra P. Davis presents the exciting celebration – Jamaican Independence 57 Street Festival at Beauty and Progress Park! Experience a replica of street festivals in the Island of Jamaica in local communities like Rae Town (Downtown Kingston) and Red Hills Road (Uptown St. Andrew). Street dances are ways for local vendors to sell food and arts & crafts with the sounds of festival songs such as Eric Donaldson’s 1971 hit “Cherry Oh Baby”.

Exciting activities for the entire family to enjoy include a kid’s zone, game station, and bounce house. Entertainment includes a live radio broadcast from 92.7FM/96.1FM WZOP with Mickey Mike, music provided by I-Star Sound System along with DJ King Waggy T, X-Quad, Mickey-D Xpress, DJ Cool Afro Beat, and more. This celebration is free for everyone to come and enjoy. Food, drinks and souvenirs will be available for purchase.
