Join a FREE concert presented by the Hollywood CRA, opening set by Luluc, a Brooklyn-based Australian folk duo. Following a sold out North American tour earlier this year, Swedish indie-folk artist José González returns to the US with his full band – kicking off the tour at the Hollywood ArtsPark, and continuing on to headline dates at Austin City Limits and other major festivals.
Earlier this year, José González released Vestiges & Claws, his first solo album in seven years, to glowing reviews. NPR says,“González’s songs are slight little creations, with minimal words encapsulating big ideas and breezy pop melodies disguising weighty notions about life’s endlessly refracting illusions.†In the intervening years since the spectacular In Our Nature, González recorded and toured with Junip, recorded film scores and explored innovative collaborations including with the Goteborg String Quartet and Y Chamber Music Ensemble.
This concert is held in conjunction with the popular Food Trucks night at the ArtsPark, and is produced by The Rhythm Foundation in partnership with Poplife. Support is received from the City of Hollywood, Hollywood KIA and Presidente Beer.
