Inaugural Greater Fort Lauderdale’s premier food and drink festival fetured an impressive lineup of renowned taste-makers, celebrating Broward County’s world-class cuisine. Within four days of curated programming, the festival elevated VIP experiences like Cocktail Confidential; GFL On The Rise; Grand Tasting main stage demonstrations by luminaries such as Chef Angelo Elia and Chef Jorge Ramos; and curated lounge experiences like the Bungalow/954 and the Cantina at the Grove. The festival closed out with open to the public Family Day presented by Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.
The Grand Tasting introduce guests to the culinary revolution taking place throughout the region at a unique downtown setting. Featuring local fare, craft beer, wine and spirit tastings, cooking demonstrations in the Allied Kitchen and Bath Demo Kitchen, art installations from local talent, and live music by Bonn E. Maiy. There was also a “Best Bite” Competition – People’s Choice Award and Judges Choice Award judged by local celebrity foodie judges including Belkys Nerey, WSVN co-anchor and host of a Bite with Belkys; Mike Mayo, Dining Critic with the Sun-Sentinel; and Laine Doss, Food and Drink Editor with Miami New Times.
Greater Fort Lauderdale Food & Wine Festival Beverage participants included a wide variety of wines, beers, liquors and craft spirits from celebrated brands to local breweries and distilleries. List of some of the most talked about brands at the festival includes: Horse Soldier Bourbon, Michter’s Bourbon, High West Distillery, Whistle Pig Rye, Papa’s Pilar Rum, Crop Organic Vodka, Milagro Tequila, Motelobos Mezcal and more.
