Kim Gordon in Conversation with Amanda Keeley at the de la Cruz CollectionFriday, November 20, 6pm-9pm – de la Cruz Collection, 23 NE 41 Street, Miami Design District

The Miami Design District, in collaboration with the de la Cruz Collection Contemporary Art Space, is pleased to announce the Miami Design District & de La Cruz Collection Lecture Series, an evening lecture with artist, writer and musician, and actor KIM GORDON. The talk will take place on Friday, November 20, 2015 with doors opening at 6:00 pm and lecture beginning promptly at 7:00 pm.

Kim Gordon, best known as the lead singer for the vanguard alternative rock band Sonic Youth, has since the 80s influenced the indie music scene. Her artistry transcends her music. Besides contributing to Sonic Youth’s 16 studio albums, Gordon’s multifaceted career also extends to visual art, curation, acting and most recently writing, publishing her memoir in February 2015, A Girl in Band.

A Girl in Band focuses on her extensive life, following her early move from East to West Coast and back again, her friendships with fellow musician Kurt Cobain, and designer Marc Jacobs, and the creation of her band Sonic Youth with former husband, Thurston Moore.

Gordon’s artwork has been exhibited across the globe including her most recent shows at 303 Gallery in New York, White Columns Gallery in New York, Gagosian Gallery in New York, and Benaki Museum in Athens, Greece. #KIMGORDON
