Donald Pliner’s “Coming Home Gallery” Grand Opening

Donald Pliner's "Coming Home Gallery" Grand OpeningThursday, November 19, 6pm-8pm – Coming Home Gallery, 29 NW 24th Street, Miami Wynwood Arts District

Iconic American shoe designer Donald J. Pliner and his wife Lisa Pliner are coming back home to Miami with a grand opening of Coming Home Gallery of home furnishings. In addition to showcasing his unique pieces, Donald’s wife, Lisa Pliner, will be launching and signing her new book, “Look Into Her Eyes: BabyDoll.” The evening will serve in support of educational programming at the Miami Children’s Museum, and 10% of sales from the evening will benefit the charity.

With the gallery located in the heart of Miami’s art-hub, Wynwood, the designing duo have carefully selected objects and home furnishings collected during or inspired by their two decades of world travels. Renowned for their distinct color sense and original design point of view, the Pliners have focused the gallery around a concept of color – five distinct lacquer colors, creating a sensory experience: black, white, silver, cobalt blue and China red.

The 7,000 square foot space with soaring 25-foot ceilings will immerse visitors in a world of “Urban Folklore,” both authentic in origin and purely from the imagination of the Pliners. A collection of chandeliers, sofas, chairs, rugs, massive mirrors and one-of-a-kind objects d’art will delight the most seasoned design enthusiast.

In addition to showcasing unique pieces, the Pliners, recognized for their local philanthropy work with the arts and charities, will use the gallery space for a series of dynamic cultural programming events to support their favorite causes and fellow artists from both theMiami area and from around the world. @DonaldJPliner @LisaPliner @ComingHomeMIA
