Aloft Miami BrickellÂ presented Wynwood’s world-renowned wall artistsÂ Nicole Salgar, KAZILLA, and Juan Travieso,Â whoÂ painted the walls at Aloft Miami Brickell Hotel’s lobby.Â Guests and friends enjoyed lite bites and drinks, and live entertainment byÂ DJ Glukman. The event was held inÂ the support of CentreFuge Public Art, an organization thatÂ strives to bring together communities that are broken apart by congestion and blocked road-ways, with a dose of color and expression.Â CentreFuge Public ArtÂ is anÂ organization of street artists founded and headquartered in NYC, with presence in Miami. The organization seeks to unify communities through art.Â Nicole Salgar spearheads CentreFuge Public Art’s Miami Chapter.
Nicole SalgarÂ was born in Miami and has been a street artist for more than 15 years, of which 13 were spent in New York City where she became part of CentreFuge Art Project. After noticing the growth of Miami’s prolific street art movement, she decided to move back to her hometown as a representative of the organization for local artists.
KazillaÂ is originally from New Mexico, and today she travels around the world for her commissioned work, paintings, and exhibits. Her latest tour was in Dubai in 2014.
Cuban-born JuanÂ TraviesoÂ studied art, illustration and painting. He has made exhibitions in various galleries and museums worldwide including a launch for a magazine in Melbourne, Australia. Today, he is an Art Professor at the New World School of Arts in Downtown Miami. #ARTOffTheCanvas @AloftBrickell
