The Friends of the Miami-Dade Public Library will host the 24th annual Book Sale Dec. 9 – 12 at the main branch of the Miami-Dade County Public Library System in downtown Miami. The proceeds from the four-day sale, which run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., will benefit the Miami-Dade Public Library System. Friends, a nonprofit run by volunteers, will sell thousands of books, DVDs and CDs that were donated over the past year. Book prices are $1 for paperbacks and $3 for hardcover books, with specialty books, DVDs and CDs priced separately. All buyers will receive a complimentary ticket to visit History Miami’s exhibit Operation Pedro Pan: The Cuban Children’s Exodus. “Our goal is support the library system and ensure its growth, and to get more books in the hands of people in our community,” said Lynn Summers, chair of the organization. @friendslibrary
