National Book Foundation's 5 Under 35Thursday, April 14, 7pm – Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus Auditorium, (Bldg. 1, 2nd fl.), 300 NE Second Avenue, Miami

For the first time ever, the National Book Foundation’s 5 Under 35 finalists are making their way to Miami for an evening of readings with Colin Barrett, Angela Flournoy, Megan Kruse, Tracy O’Neill and Azareen Van der Vliet Oloomi. Moderated by LitHub.com editor-in-chief, Jonny Diamond. The National Book Foundation’s 5 Under 35 program honors young fiction writers at the beginning of their careers. Every year, five National Book Award Finalists, or previous 5 Under 35 honorees, select one promising writer each to recognize at the beginning of National Book Awards week in November; each Honoree is under 35 and has published one novel or short story collection. Previous honorees include Valeria Luiselli, Téa Obreht, ZZ Packer, Karen Russell, Merritt Tierce, Claire Vaye Watkins, and Phil Klay (who last year went on to win the National Book Award for Fiction).  @MiamiBookFair
