Building Bridges: New Encounters in Cuban PoetryFriday, April 15, 7pm-9pm – Colonial Florida Cultural and Convention Center, 3220 NW 7th Ave, Miami

Join Colonial Florida Cultural and Convention Center for a ground-breaking reading and round-table discussion about the future of Cuban and Cuban-American literature, moderated by award-winning poets José Kozer and Reina María Rodriguez. For the first time since 1959, a cohort of Cuban poets living on the island (Oscar Cruz, José Ramón Sánchez, Soleida Ríos, and Marcelo Morales) join four of Miami’s best in Cuban poetry (Legna Rodríguez Iglesias, Yosie Crespo, Carlos Pintado, and Joaquín Badajoz) to read their work and discuss the state of Cuban poetry today in light of recent changes in US-Cuba relations and Cuban politics at large. After the event, celebrate the evening in the courtyard and browse for books of contemporary Cuban poetry published by local and international presses Jai-Alai Books and Hypermedia Ediciones. @omiamifestival @ColonialFlaMIA
