Virginia Key Outdoor Center and Race South Florida are proud to present the 2017 Miami River Rally on Saturday, April 1st, at Lummus Park on the Miami River. Join for the Fifth Annual Miami River Rally. From the waters of Biscayne Bay, past high rises to generations-old commercial fishing fleets cluttered with lobster traps, to old Miami dating back to the time of early Western settlers, continue on to early native lands once the home of Tequesta Indians, continue past limestone bluffs and solution caves. Once upon a time rapids ran in the Miami River; on April 1st, Paddleboards, Kayaks, Canoes, Outrigger Canoes and Surf Skis will run the river.
The race will be the opening event for the 21st Annual Miami Riverday Festival. Come show off your skills and your ride. Stay and enjoy the festival. Bring your entire family to enjoy the day with live music, giveaways, free boat rides, and a celebration following the race. The Miami River Commission will have docks in place for our race and for the free boat rides on the river later in the day. Beverages and healthy snacks will be provided for the racers. Check out the delicious and exciting food that will be on sale from numerous vendors at the festival, including a number of outstanding riverfront restaurants.
