To celebrate the alumni of Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade and the positive impact they have made and continue to make in the Miami-Dade community and beyond, the organization hosted its 4th annual Alumni Reunion & Hall of Fame Induction at Marlins Park. Alumni, inductees and their families have been invited to this special 5 p.m. reception, followed by the 7:10 p.m. Miami Marlins vs. Atlanta Braves home game.
All Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade alumni are encouraged to register as alumnus at bgcmia.org in order to receive important information about the organization. This year’s Alumni Hall of Fame inductees are:
Layne Jackson, Former Navy Seal and attended the Kendall Club
Serge Martinez, Surgeon and founder of the first Cochlear Ear Impact that attended the Hank Kline Club
Paul George, Miami Historian and attended the Hank Kline Club
George Nowicki, Retired agent of U.S. Treasury Department and attended Hank Kline Club
Carl Rentz, (deceased) Miami Attorney and attended Hank Kline Club
Gerald Tinker, Olympic Medalist and attended the Hank Kline Club
The talents, dedication and skills of Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade alumni have affected the South Florida community and beyond in the areas of sports, entertainment, business, medicine, politics, justice, art, education and more. Although the club’s members have all embarked on their own special journeys, they all experienced the life-changing programs facilitated by the caring and compassionate staff at Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade. Since first opening its doors in 1940, Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade has provided the diverse youth of South Florida with a supportive environment to learn, thrive and accomplish their dreams.
