Miami Children’s Initiative 10th Anniversary Celebration WeekendOctober 18 – 20 – JW Marriott Marquis, 255 Biscayne Blvd Way, Miami

Liberty City based Miami Children’s Initiative (MCI), a local nonprofit organization working to break the cycle of poverty by investing in each child and their families will host its signature annual fundraiser, to raise money and awareness and supporting programs for children from 3-18 years old residing in Liberty City.

MCI Community Fun Day is family fun day will engage our community to actively participate and celebrate our ten years of service to Liberty City. Children and families will have an opportunity to enjoy family friendly activities which include carnival rides, DJ, food trucks, retail vendors and live musical performances. This Community Fun Day will take place at the Charles R. Drew Community Field, 1907 North West 60 Street, directly adjacent to Charles R. Drew K-8 Center. The event is scheduled on Friday, October 18, 2019, from 12 -6 PM.

“Over The Edge” is an opportunity for a participant to change the lives of children and families in Liberty City by rappelling down the side of the JW Marriott Marquis Miami Downtown. The participant will rappel from the 19th floor of the JW Marriott all the way to the heroes welcome at the ground level. A Go Pro options will be available to record your once in a lifetime adventure. It is going down on Saturday, October 19, 2019, from 8 AM – 3 PM.

The MCI 10th Anniversary ‘Heroes of the City ’ Extravaganza is a night of fantasy and fun, while recognizing pillars of our community. Some of the areas of recognition will be philanthropy, community service, education, performing arts, and other vital areas.
