On Saturday, May 21st Miami Supercar Rooms opens to the public for an exciting day of Cuban art, crafts and culture at its best – with free admission to all the attractions. The showcase of Cuban arts and culture will be in association with The Guayabera Lady Foundation a charitable non-profit organization developed to facilitate educational, financial and in-kind resources for children and youth with limited resources or special needs. Donations made throughout the week will benefit the Foundation.
Starting at 10:00am local artists will display their collections with work presented by Cuban talent Rigo León, Adrian Ãvila, Reinier Gamboa and Arien Xuan López, among others. Starting at 12 Noon, attendees will enjoy a wide selection of complimentary Cuban cuisine by The Cooking Club, located at stations throughout the venue, offering traditional dishes such as frijoles negros cubanos / moros y cristianos, ropa vieja, picadillo, rabo encendido, congri, vaca frita, yuca con mojo, sandwich Cubano and arroz con pollo among other favorites. Starting at 2:00pm, guests will be able to witness authentic Cuban cigar rolling by a number of local experts from Cuban Crafters, whereby cigar lovers will be able to sample the best imported brands that Miami has to offer. From 4:00pm Richland Rum will form the base for a number of specialty Cuban inspired cocktails, crafted exclusively for the entire weekend at Miami Supercar Rooms’ open bar. These will include the “Bongo Frio†– a frozen take on a Tiki classic made with a Cuban twist; as well as the “Espresso Bongo†originally created by Tiki guru Jeff “Beachbum†Berry. Miami Supercar Rooms will present a Cubanized frozen version – substituting a colada instead of espresso, as well as sugar cane juice and mamey instead of orange and passion fruit. This is a free event. #MiamiSupercarRooms @supercar_rooms
